A man accused of posting photographs of women in “obscene” positions on Twitter and claiming they were available for sex has been arrested by Saudi Arabia’s religious police, according to the local Sada newspaper.

The man, apparently from Syria, is accused of being involved in pimping.

“He posed as a man who is seeking friendship and was publishing pictures of women in obscene positions claiming they are his relatives,” the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice reportedly said.

“He managed to attract a large number of customers. Police searching his flat found obscene pictures and films, sexual items and large sums of money.”
