A Saudi Arabian Airlines flight to the Indian town of Kochi was forced to return to Dammam following a technical malfunction mid-flight, it has been reported.

The flight from King Fahd International Airport was carrying a large number of passengers, Arab News reports on Wednesday.

The pilot was forced to make a u-turn after an hour’s flight time when he was alerted of a technical fault by the aircraft’s flight monitoring devices. The exact fault was not given in the report.

Abdullah Alajhar, a spokesman for Saudia, told the paper the flight took off after the technical glitch was fixed.
