A Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) plane has reportedly skidded off a runway and become bogged in mud at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Flight SV871 bound for Riyadh was preparing to take-off after heavy rain on Tuesday evening, airport officials said.

None of the 298 passengers on board the Boeing 747 was hurt.

The flight was cancelled, with passengers forced to stay overnight in a hotel, and at least 11 other flights were delayed by the blocked runway as workers attempted to free the plane.
