A Saudi Arabian Airlines plane become bogged in mud after attempting to take-off following heavy rain
A Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) plane has reportedly skidded off a runway and become bogged in mud at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Flight SV871 bound for Riyadh was preparing to take-off after heavy rain on Tuesday evening, airport officials said.
None of the 298 passengers on board the Boeing 747 was hurt.
The flight was cancelled, with passengers forced to stay overnight in a hotel, and at least 11 other flights were delayed by the blocked runway as workers attempted to free the plane. For all the latest transport news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
Good no one was hurt. Philippine weather should be taken seriously for safety especially by foreign pilots who are too easy of everything about the country :)
