Saudis set for space

American Express is offering cardholders in the Kingdom the chance to win a trip to the edge of the stratosphere.

American Express in Saudi Arabia is offering its cardholders in the Kingdom the opportunity to experience life in space.

The credit card company has tied up with South African extreme flight adventure firm Thunder City to offer a grand prize of a journey to 55,000 feet - the edge of the stratosphere.

The campaign will run from May 22 until October 31 and any American Express cardholder that makes a purchase during this period will be entered into a monthly draw.

At the end of the five-month promotion, a grand draw will be conducted and two winners will be selected for a space trip and a further three winners will be awarded a fully paid, one week vacation to South Africa.

Earlier this month, ArabianBusiness.com revealed Ibrahim Sharaf, chairman of UAE-based Sharaf Group, will become the first Emirati to go into space.
