IT security specialist Symantec will showcase its latest enterprise technology solutions at GITEX Technology Week, with a key focus on 'green IT', virtualisation and endpoint security.
Symantec is a leader in providing security, storage and systems management solutions for businesses and consumers. Headquartered in Cupertino, California, Symantec boasts operations in more than 40 countries, including Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
"More and more multinational companies are setting up bases in the Middle East, and the expatriate population is larger than ever before," says Symantec Middle East principle marketing specialist Tanya Fisher.
"Furthermore, the Middle East economies are growing tremendously, providing multinational companies like Symantec the leeway to expand operations further and grow simultaneously with the region."
Fisher describes GITEX as a "most important event, where ICT vendors and customers can network with one another on the latest technology developments and the specific IT challenges facing business in the Middle East".
"Building relationships is an important aspect of success in the Middle East and GITEX provides the perfect platform to network with existing and potential customers and channel partners from across the region," she explains. "We have always been strong supporters of the show and will continue to participate each year."
Symantec will showcase a number of new product releases that address the critical business issues facing IT departments, including green IT, virtualisation, data storage, endpoint management, clustering for robust IT infrastructure, e-mail archiving, and endpoint security.
Symantec industry experts will also be on hand at GITEX to meet with customers.
Symantec is also well-known for its popular consumer IT security products, the latest iterations of which will be showcased at GITEX.
Key highlights will include the latest Norton range of products, which includes an updated Norton Internet Security 2009 and Norton AntiVirus 2009, both of which have been totally re-engineered with a focus on speed, performance and industry-leading protection. For all the latest tech news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
