Ground engineering company Sharaf Foundations has been awarded a contract for the enabling and piling work on The Creek Towers and Plaza at Dubai Maritime City.

Under the contract, the company's work on the project has been divided into five major areas, which include shoring, piling, pile load testing, excavation and dewatering, over a total area of 69,371m2.

In addition, two concrete batching plants will be set up - each capable of delivering over 120m3 of concrete per hour - achieving the daily production target of 3000m3.

The company will also strive to achieve a Gold certificate for environmental compliance in accordance with the Leed rating system.

The project is expected to be completed in third quarter of 2009.

"The new project within Dubai Maritime City - which is destined to be a global centre for excellence in the maritime field - only shows the confidence and trust Sharaf Foundations has gained as a high-performing ground engineering firm. We have mobilised a team of highly experienced engineering and technical professionals to ensure that the desired results are met for this groundbreaking project," said Yousuf Sharaf, managing director of Sharaf Group.
