GITEX Shopper has got off to a flying start at the Airport Expo with consumers taking advantage of some tasty promotions from the 170 exhibitors on show.

Acer, for instance, is enticing buyers with a range of bundles where popular products, accessories and one-off extras are sold together at attractive prices, while Epson is promising shoppers a free multifunction device when they buy certain brands of laptops or digital cameras.

The printer vendor is also conducting raffle draws at its stands, allowing winners to walk away with prizes such as home cinema projectors and LCD TVs.

"GITEX Shopper attracts thousands of visitors each day who are looking to make the most of the discounts, prizes and offers that are available on a whole range of consumer electronics, mobility and IT products, and Epson is keen to target this audience with its offerings," says Khalil El-Dalu, general manager at Epson Middle East.

Talented dancers can also win instant prizes at the JVC car audio promotion where the vendor has a floor for visitors to display their moves, while BenQ is giving shoppers the chance to win LCD TVs every hour if they purchase any of its products from Jacky's throughout the week.

"This is our sixth GITEX participation and building on our successful showing last year, where we sold over US$2.7m worth of products, we are providing our customers with even bigger and better product deals this time round," says Manish Bakshi, general manager at BenQ Middle East and Africa.
