At an award ceremony organised by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Six Senses Resorts and Spas received the ‘Best of Show' Grand Award 2007 for an outstanding Social and Environmental Conscience Programme. With a team of dedicated individuals the company aims meet certain key criterion.  These include: meeting group wide standards to meet local and international environmental agreements; reducing consumption of resources and waste generation; managing energy use and switching to renewable sources where possible; promoting awareness of sustainability amongst hosts, guests, local communities and suppliers; contributing a set part of the revenue to a Social and Environmental Responsibility Fund to benefit the local, national and global community; addressing the issue of climate change in company activities; engage local communities in employment and environmental initiatives.

Accepting the award for the company was Six Senses Resorts & Spas Group Permaculturalist, Mr Louis Thompson. In a brief speech of appreciation, Thompson said, "Six Senses has a strong history and commitment to environmental and social responsibility in every Soneva, Six Senses Hideaway, Six Senses Latitude and Evason: plus Six Senses Spa and Six Senses Destination Spa. Founders Sonu and Eva Shivdasani, along with each host, support our vision, which is: To create innovative and enriching experiences in a sustainable environment".

Thompson also added, "It is a great honour to be recognized for our Social and Environment Conscience programme by PATA, and to receive this award and share it with the hosts of all our properties. There are a range of practical ways the tourism industry can confront climate change, particularly in the hospitality sector, by reducing greenhouse emissions, and at the same time reducing operating costs, differentiating products and boosting productivity and staff morale.
