SMB has launched a new scheme to allow customers to buy the new Palm Tungsten W PDA and pay by monthly installments through Citibank

SMB has launched a new payment scheme to make Palm handhelds more easily available to users. Customers that buy the new Palm Tungsten W using a Citibank credit card can split the cost into three monthly instalments, to make buying a Palm more affordable. The scheme will run until mid-September, and will involve most leading Palm outlets in the UAE. All a buyer has to do is pay for the Palm using his Citibank credit card, and then notify Citibank, who will charge the buyer Dhs 683 per month.Seyed Ibrahim Bukhary, director of SMB explained: “Today, with wireless making inroads into the mainstream, PDAs are widely used and sought after. Through this offer with Citibank, we want to make PDAs affordable to the business executives who really need convergence products like these in this digital era.”The Palm model on offer is the Tungsten W, a high end PD with integrated tri-band GSM/GPRS, providing the user with phone functionality alongside the usual Palm functions of personal information management.“We believe that this exciting initiative between SMB and Palm is a firm step towards making the Tungsten W’s cutting edge technology available to today’s high powered business executives at an affordable price & payment option,” explained Stuart Maughan, general manager Palm Europe, Middle East Branch.
