Symantec introduces a range of new-generation technologies that it says will stamp out some of the key issues facing IT departments.
The global security, storage and systems management solutions specialist is using GITEX Technology Week as the platform for the Middle East launch of its Backup Exec 12.5 and Backup Exec System Recovery 8.5.
Additional key solutions will be unveiled to address green IT, virtualised IT environments and endpoint security during the event.
The regional director for Symantec MENA, Kevin Isaac, says industry experts will be on-hand during GITEX to discuss the new-generation technology trends, which promise to deliver huge benefits if correctly managed.
The introduction of Backup Exec 12.5 provides data protection support for virtual server environments, including VMware Virtual Infrastructures and Microsoft Virtual Server environments.
For consumers, Symantec will showcase its latest Norton range, which includes an updated Norton Internet Security 2009 and Norton AntiVirus 2009, both of which have been fully re-engineered with a focus on increasing speed, performance and industry-leading protection.
The US, Californian-based company operates throughout more than 40 countries, with offices in Dubai and Saudi Arabia that service 17 countries throughout the region.
Due to the bourgeoning local market, Isaac says Symantec will expand its operations to grow simultaneously with the region.
“Building relationships is an important aspect of success in the Middle East. GITEX provides the perfect platform to network with existing and potential customers, and channel partners across the region,” Isaac states.
“Symantec has 10 partner sponsors present on the stand as well as representing consumer products like last year.
“We hope to demonstrate the 360 degree offering that Symantec has to offer enterprises and consumers by showcasing our solution range at the show.”
The sponsor partners joining Symantec for GITEX are Huawei, VMware, ISIT, DELL, Sun Microsystems, Condo Protego, STME, ATS, ProTechnology and Emitac.
