Spanish vie for road jobs

Several Spanish construction firms are preparing offers for a contract to build and manage the M50 ring road in Dublin

Several Spanish construction firms are preparing offers for a contract to build and manage the M50 ring road in Dublin.

Among them are Actividades de Construccion y Servicios, Grupo Ferrovial, Cintra, Sacyr Vallerhermoso, Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas and Acciona SA.

The bids for the M50 project in Dublin, a 35-year concession valued at US $648 million (Euro 500 million), are due be submitted on 2 February.

Ferrovial and ACS plan to team up with Siac and Ascon, while Sacyr and FCC will join Ireland's PJ Hegarty.
