The 47-year old Catalan will now stay with the team at least through 2020
Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola will become the world’s best paid football manager after securing a £20million ($28 million) a year deal, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The 47-year old agreed to a one-year extension after during the recent warm weather training in Abu Dhabi, where he met with Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and its chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Mubadala CEO.
Guardiola has over a year remaining on the contract he signed in the summer of 2016, and will now stay with the team at least until 2020.
On Saturday, Manchester City missed an opportunity to secure the Premier League title after losing 3-2 to rivals Manchester United at home in Etihad Stadium, conceding three goals in the second half of the match.
Despite the loss, Manchester City remains atop of the Premier League standings, 13 points ahead of Man United.
