Newly crowned five-time world champion Lewis Hamilton topped the times for Mercedes in Saturday's qualifying session to take pole position for Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
As the high temperatures at the Yas Marina circuit affected tyre behaviour and wear, the 33-year-old Briton clocked a best lap in one minute and 34.794 seconds to outpace his team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
It was Hamilton's 11th pole position of the season as he continued his dominance.
Four-time champion Sebastian Vettel was third fastest, ahead of Sauber-bound Finn Kimi Raikkonen, in his final race with Ferrari.
Renault-bound Daniel Ricciardo was fifth in the Red Bull, followed by team-mate Max Verstappen. For all the latest sports news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
