Abu Dhabi has been confirmed as the last race of the Formula 1 season next year but will be held in December instead of November.

Formula 1 has revealed another 21-race schedule for 2019, with the season to finish in December for the first time in over 50 years.

The calendar was formally ratified by the World Motor Sport Council with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix taking place on December 1.

The Gulf's other race - in Bahrain - will take place on March 31 and will be the second event of the season after Australia which will be held on March 17.

The schedule features five back-to-back race weekends but no repeat of this year's unprecedented triple-header.
