Work is being carried out in Zurich, and will be completed by the end of 2010.
SR Technics and Qatar Airways on Wednesday announced they have signed a contract to modify the cabin layout of three Airbus A321 and two A319 aircraft.
Work is being carried out in Zurich, Switzerland, and will be completed by the end of 2010, SR Technics said in a statement.
The comprehensive cabin modifications will include the installation of a new seat layout, an In-flight Entertainment (IFE) system, and a GSM technology to allow the use of mobile phones in the air.
At the same time all galleys and lavatories are being renewed, and the enhanced cabin design will provide more luggage space for the passengers, and reduce the overall weight of the aircraft thanks to lighter interior materials.
"We are delighted that Qatar Airways has favored SR Technics with this new contract and has confidence in our quality standards and the competitiveness of our service," said André Wall, COO at SR Technics.
"We look forward to continuing our support of Qatar Airways and to supporting their ongoing development."
SR Technics is based in Zurich and works in close alignment with its sister company Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT), which shares the parent company Mubadala Aerospace.
