The Arabian Business StartUp Academy returns on Monday, 18 August, with a breakfast workshop entitled Book Keeping and Accounting: Preparing your Business for Growth.

The event takes place at The Address Downtown Dubai, starting at 8.30am, and will feature two prominent speakers from the worlds of investment and finance.

Between them, they will explain how to attract the attention of investors, and how to keep your books in good shape in order to maximise your potential.

Speaking from the investors’ side will be Abrar Ahmad, a partner at Travel Capitalist Ventures who has a wealth of hands-on experience with start-ups in the region. The investor, mentor and strategic advisor will explain what investors look for in a small business and its founder, looking particularly at finances and how they impact a funder’s decision.

Offering practical advice on how to organise your accounts will be Majeed Lakhani, director of investment and project financing at Adam Global. Drawing on three decades of experience in finance, Lakhani will reveal how to present your books in a way that will attract funding for launch, as well as vital finance to help grow your business further into its lifecycle.

Registration for this event is now closed, but to receive information about future Academies, please contact Amanda Elisha at amanda.elisha@itp.com.
