Aim of the programme is to find the best cutting-edge technologies that provide Marriott guests with a better service and/or experience
Marriott Hotels has launched its ‘TestBed’ accelerator, for the first time in the region giving start-ups the opportunity to test their innovative tech-based products or services in one of the local Marriot hotels.
The aim of the programme is to find the best cutting-edge technologies that provide Marriott guests with a better service and/or experience.
This unique 10-week accelerator programme is open to seed and early stage start-ups with products or services that are ready to pilot in a live hotel environment. It offers them an invaluable opportunity to gain feedback from hotel guests to help further develop and perfect their product.
Commenting on the launch of TestBed, Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President of Premium & Select Brands, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, said, “It’s an exciting chance for us to revolutionise the hotel experience in the region, while supporting start-ups that are ready to spark game-changing innovation. There is a wealth of talent out there, and we’re looking forward to learning from each other as Marriott continues to lead the way in shaping the future of travel with technology.”
The participating start-ups will be selected to take part with a view to finding the tech products that can reinvent the hotel experience throughout the region. Those chosen will also be offered mentoring and global exposure.
Start-ups with technologies that be applied to a hospitality environment can find out more and submit their application via www.wamda.com/marriott-testbed-mea.
This is the first year that the initiative is available in the region, with the programme starting its roll-out in the UAE.
