Start-ups with an interest in aviation, travel and tourism are now eligible to apply for an incubator initiative supported by Emirates Group, GE, and Dubai Tourism and could win funding of AED50,000 ($13,614) to help get their idea off the ground.

The Intelak Incubator was set up by the three founding partners in September 2016 and the aim of the initiative is to help start-ups launch, grow and scale to new heights.

Since Intelak was established, the three partners have contributed AED1 million in initial seed funding to participants and another AED1m in support services.

Around 1,200 start-ups have allied to be part of the funding programme, with 20 going on to be successfully funded.

The deadline for the next round of funding is September 1, 2019. Finalists will be notified on September 8, 2019 and the boot camp stage will start on September 15, 2019.

The winner will be revealed on September 22, 2019, the incubation program will start on October 4, 2019 and the demo day, when winners can reveal their business ideas, will be on December 16, 2019.

On offer for those taking part in the initiative is AED50,000 in equity-free funding, expert mentoring, tailored workshops and incubation office space located at Dubai Silicon Oasis.
