Founder's Club, by Lock&Stock, is designed to provide practical assistance for start-ups
Dubai-based start-up Lock&Stock is providing a helping hand to young entrepreneurs across the UAE with the launch of Founder’s Club.
With only five percent of start-ups making it to their fifth birthday, Lock&Stock, which was presented with the Future Stars award at the 2019 Arabian Business Start-up Awards, is looking to ensure entrepreneurs have the perfect start to their business journey.
“I'm 23, and I was 20 when we launched Lock&Stock. I know first-hand how hard it is to launch a startup when you're young, and especially so in the UAE. That's why we launched the Founder's Club, for the sole purpose of assisting young entrepreneurs and founders and providing them with the support that we lacked when we began this journey.” said Craig Fernandes, CEO, Lock&Stock.
The Founder’s Club offers technical expertise, marketing guidance, industry relationships, and investor connections.
Fernandes told Arabian Business: “The Founder’s Club is our vehicle to change the ‘don’t take risks’ mentality that is still very prevalent in Dubai and the UAE. Staying true to that, we made the decision early on to not restrict applicants by industry. If you’re young, hungry, ambitious and have a killer idea, the Founder’s Club is for you.
“Our aim with the Founder’s Club is to change people’s mentality and mindset, and that’s a rather big task. But we think this goal is worth fighting for, and we want to do it right, one step at a time.”
The deadline for applications to be part of the Founder’s Club is today (Friday, July 24).
“We intend to have a selection round every six months, so hopefully in round two and onwards we will be able to take on more. Our aim is to eventually, someday, see hundreds of thriving start-ups operating across the UAE, the GCC, and the world, that launched and grew courtesy of the Founder’s Club,” added Fernandes.
