Huda Kattan to head panel at Dubai beauty exhibition

Beauty Pop will see brands such as Bassam Fattouh and YSL conduct masterclasses and talks

Blogger turned businesswoman Huda Kattan, founder of cosmetics line Huda Beauty, will head a panel of industry experts at Beauty Pop exhibition starting Thursday April 19 at Base Dubai.

Kattan will sit alongside international experts including her sister Mona Kattan, Camilla Coelho, Jen Atkin, Desi Perkins, Marianna Hewitt, Crystal Koro, Tracey Cunningham, Sadaf Beauty and Nurse Jamie.

The panel discussions will address pressing topics including the beauty industry’s influence on social media, the sector’s evolvement in the region and the steps it takes to become a beauty blogger on YouTube.

The three-day event will also feature meet and greets with top profile ‘influencers,’ product launches and make up masterclasses.

Brands showcasing include Charlotte Tilbury, Wojooh, Balmain Hair Couture, Bassam Fattouh, Caudalie, Dyson, L’Occitane, Lancôme, OUAI, Urban Decay and YSL.

Professional dancers and choreographers Les Twins will also perform at the opening party.

In addition, Dubai-based makeup artist Toni Malt will launch her makeup academy, which will offer courses including a diploma course encompassing editorial makeup artist education. It will come with three portfolio building photoshoots. Shorter courses will focus on different areas of makeup, such as advanced makeup techniques and bridal makeup skills.

GlossyGlobe, an app that offers beauty home services, will also launch at the event.

Beauty Pop is organised by ladies’ salon Belle Femme and Absolute Events.

Those conducting meet and greets include Jen Atkin, Camila Coelho, Desi Perkins, Tracy Cunningham, Nurse Jamie, Marianna Hewitt, Mary Philips, Bassam Fattouh, Justine Marjan, Sadaf Beauty and Chrytal Koro.

Masterclasses will be directed by Mary Phillips and Bassam Fattouh, who have worked with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, the Kardashians, Chrissy Teigen, Haifa Wehbe and Elissa.

Hollywood hairstylists Jen Atkin and Justine Marjan will also conduct a hair masterclass.

Beauty influencers attending include Shahd Al Jumaily, Dana Hourani, Mina Al Sheikhly, Deema Al Asadi, Zeynab El-helw, Lama Al-Akeel and The Hala.
