The Tailor Truck, a bespoke store-on-wheels, launches in Dubai

The Tailor Truck, a bespoke store-on-wheels, launches in Dubai

Bespoke tailoring firm The Custom Shop New York has opened a mobile service in Dubai which drives to certain locations to take customers’ measurements and orders.

The Tailor Truck is the first store-on-wheels of its kind in the region. It uses new, 3D scanning technology to produce a completely measured suit model in just 5 minutes; faster than the time it takes to get a cup of coffee, the company claims.

Customers can choose from over 200 fabric selections and consult an in-house stylist for all design requirements in the truck. They can also alter their existing garments.

However, current locations are limited to The Pavilion in Jumeirah Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis and The Meadows Town Centre. Customers can pre-book their slots at The Tailor Truck online, where they can also track the truck.

The shop has permanent stores in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and New York, including DIFC, Downtown Dubai, Ibn Battuta Mall and more.

“The multi-city approach allows us to serve customers anywhere, anytime and ensure the same level of quality,” says the company’s website.

It has also launched an invitation-only personal styling service in its Dubai store, which features the 3D body scanner.
