Hotel firm says to open new properties in Riyadh and Makkah this year, with Bahrain and Al Khobar set to open in 2017
Swiss-Belhotel International will unveil a pipeline of openings in the Middle East at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) later this month as it continues its expansion in the region.
The company plans to open two hotels in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and one property in the holy city of Makkah this year.
Next year, further openings are planned with a five-star hotel in Bahrain and a four-star property in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, it said in a statement
The expansion in the region will further grow a portfolio of 135 hotels and resorts operating in Asia-Pacific destinations such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Australia and New Zealand, while the group recently opened its first hotel in Europe, the Swiss-Belhotel Varna in Bulgaria.
Noel Massoud, vice president - Operations and Development - The Middle East, said: "We are delighted to be attending ATM 2016. We will be showcasing our existing global properties, including our first European property in Bulgaria, as well as announcing additions to our portfolio in the Middle East."
Arabian Travel Market will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 25-28.
