Swiss hospitality firm inks deal for Saudi hotel and resort

Swiss International has announced the signing of a management agreement with the Al Zamil real estate group to develop a hotel and resort at the Al Qassim Touristic city project in Saudi Arabia.

The Al Qassim project is spread over 95,000 sq m in a province that is known for its rich heritage, nature and traditional crafts.

The Swiss International Al Qassim touristic project will offer a hotel of 135 rooms, restaurants including a Swiss Café, Restaurant & Lounge, Grill room and Mediterranean restaurant, a banquet hall capable of holding 1,000 people and conference rooms.

The project will also feature a children's entertainment centre and a tennis court, the hotelier said in a statement.

Al Zamil is a unit of the Zamil Group that develops residential communities and office commercial properties in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Swiss International, which said it aims to become the leading hotel brand in the Middle East and Africa and has recently moved its service centre to Ras Al Khaimah, is targeting 150 hotels globally by the year 2020.
