Lebanon could miss out on aid, France warns

Lebanon’s economy has looked on the brink of collapse for some time but a Paris conference dubbed CEDRE in April earned it $11bn in aid pledges.

Deposit rates will only begin to decline once Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri forms a new government and starts taking steps to rein in the fiscal deficit, according to Jassem Ajaka, professor of economy at the Lebanese University.
