Taiwan's presence at Gitex will be stronger than ever this year, with 113 Taiwanese manufacturers due to exhibit at the show.
As one of the powerhouses of the global IT industry, Taiwan has always had a strong presence at international exhibitions, but this year, according to Taiwan's ACE Forum exhibition agency, Taiwanese companies will occupy more than 1,922 square metres of exhibition space, more than any other country.
Alongside Taiwanese majors such as Acer and BenQ, who will have their own dedicated stands, the country will also be represented by the Taiwanese Pavilion. The pavilion will host a range of companies representing different sectors, including Ritek Corp, Accton Technology Corp., CMC Magnetics Corp., Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. (MSI), and AGNeovo Technology.
Taiwan and China are among the top 10 suppliers of IT to the UAE, accounting for 50.5% of all IT imports to the country in 2004. The Taiwanese presence at the show will reflect the expanding range of solutions on offer from Taiwan companies, including PCs, notebooks, computer components, consumer electronics, peripherals, networking equipment and storage. The exhibitors at the show also are indicative of the development of IT companies in Taiwan from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) producing hardware for other vendors to fully fledged Own Brand Manufacturers (OBM) creating and marketing their own branded products. For all the latest tech news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
