TDIC appoints contractor for Saadiyat project

Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) on Tuesday said it had appointed a contractor to build phase one of Saadiyat Beach Apartments which will see the construction of 495 apartments.

The master developer of tourism, cultural, and residential destinations in Abu Dhabi said the apartments were set for completion by the fourth quarter of 2011.

Abu Dhabi-based company Dhabi Contracting Establishment has been chosen to build the first phase of the project.

The apartments will be spread over six apartment buildings of which construction work has already begun this month.

Show apartments will be available to view in the second quarter of 2011, when leasing will commence to future residents, the company added in a statement.

Each apartment site features views of the water, surrounding island landscape and the already completed Saadiyat Beach Golf Club.

The Abu Dhabi branch of GHD Group, an international network of engineers, architects and environmental scientists, has been commissioned to support on the architectural works; interior designing; structural and mechanical, engineering and plumbing works, landscape architecture sustainability; and infrastructural services.
