Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, has launched the eCRIME online platform to receive reports of cyber crimes from members of the public.

The website - www.ecrime.ae - has been launched in accordance with the Dubai 2021 Plan and allows internet users to report any suspicious online activity.

Al Marri stressed the keenness of the Dubai Police on providing innovative services in line with the strategic directions of the UAE and the future plans of the Government of Dubai in the field of smart services.

Colonel Saeed Al Hajari, director of Cybercrime Department at Dubai Police, said the new service aims to tackle issues such as suspicious e-mails, social media related issues, hacking, online bullying and cyber extortion.

He said website visitors needed to follow only seven simple steps to submit a report via the eCRIME platform.
