Dubai Civil Defence, in cooperation with Dubai Future Foundation, has announced that it has successfully developed the "30-Second Response” project, which aims to accelerate fire response times in vital areas.

The project is part of Dubai 10X initiative, launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai with the mission to have Dubai achieve today what other cities of the world will achieve in 10 years

Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, director general of Civil Defence in Dubai, said: "The approved project wll accelerate the response time to 30 seconds in vital areas. A competent and authorised person will take an effective action through real-time transmission using technology and devices that send images and data accurately to the operations room administrators."

He added that currently, a response time of 6-8 minutes is achieved for 80 percent of the total communications.

"Based on the risk records and dynamic development in Dubai, we are fully aware of the need to enhance the response time significantly to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s in making Dubai one of the safest cities in the world. Accordingly, we have invested this opportunity to create our own process through 'real-time response' at the point of contact," he said.

A statement said the immediate procedural response will efficiently speed up the evacuation process to save more lives.

The director general added: "The timeline for the risk assessment process in the vital areas of Dubai has been reviewed and the first phase will be completed by the end of 2018.

"Dubai is among the fastest growing cities in the world, the safest and the most technically advanced. It provides the physical human and technical infrastructure to ensure safety in the most time effective, cost efficient manner and best practices. This will enhance the reputation of the UAE globally and places it as one of the best countries in the world to address security and safety."
