UAE Prime Minister and Vice President and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the 11th most followed politicians on Twitter as of June 2019 with 9.7 million followers, according to Twitter statistics.
Former US president Barack Obama tops the list with 106.7 million followers, followed by current US president Donald Trump with 61.3 million.
Coming in third place is Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with 48.2 million followers, followed by Hillary Clinton with 24.7 million followers and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan with 13.8 million.
The top 10 are rounded out by former Indian Minister of External Affairs Susha Swaraj, Indonesia’s Joko Widodo, Queen Rania of Jordan, Rahul Gandhi and Pakistani PM Imran Khan.
Crown Prince Salman of Saudi Arabia came in 12th place after Sheikh Mohammed. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, came in 19th place with 4.5 million followers.
This month marks Sheikh Mohammed’s 10th year on the social media platform. To commemorate his presence on Twitter, on Monday a book featuring a collection of his Tweets was unveiled.
