Customers will be able to communicate with DEWA's AI 'virtual employee' in both English and Arabic
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has obtained a verified Whatsapp business account to help it communicate with customers, it was announced on Sunday.
The new DEWA feature uses artificial intelligence (AI) through Rammas, DEWA’s ‘virtual employee’.
Customers can communicate with DEWA in both Arabic and English, 24-hours a day, through Whatsapp number 04 601 9999.
“We always seek to enrich our customers’ experience with smart services that are based on advanced systems to provide a unique government experience that contributes to their happiness,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the managing director and CEO of DEWA. “This is done by making use of AI tools.”
Marwan bin Haidar, the executive vice president of innovation and the future at DEWA, said that the verification of DEWA’s account is a result of cooperation with one of the start-ups taking part in the Dubai Future Accelerators Programme.
Additionally, Bin Haidar noted that the Whatsapp guests between DEWA and the customer are encrypted to ensure security. He urged customers to check for the green badge next time DEWA’s name to make sure they’re communicating with the verified account.
