Acquisition will create strongest cyber security unit in the region
Etisalat has completed the acquisition of German cyber security outfit Help AG.
Founded in 1995, the company has had a presence in the Middle East for the last 16 years and serves a wide range of sectors including telecom, retail, defence, government, oil and gas, infrastructure, education, healthcare and aviation and transport.
The move will create the region’s strongest cyber security unit and will strengthen Etisalat’s cloud, internet of things, artificial intelligence, big data and analytics lines of business.
Numbers behind the deal were not disclosed.
Salvador Anglada, group chief business officer at Etisalat, said: “Help AG has established itself as the region’s trusted security advisor. With cyber security playing a fundamental role in all aspects of digital business today, this acquisition fits perfectly into our strategy of being a key enabler of secure, seamless and effective digital transformation for our customers.”
DLA Piper, led by corporate partner Ben Gillespie, who was assisted by senior associate Natalia Tombs, advised Havenvest Private Equity, Rimco Investments and the management sellers on the disposal of 100 percent of their shares in Help AG to Etisalat.
