TechTuners launches global recruitment portal

Dubai-based travel industry technology solution provider TechTuners has a new online recruitment portal that aims to address the staffing requirements of the Middle East's travel industry.

Dubai-based travel industry technology solution provider TechTuners has a new online recruitment portal that aims to address the staffing requirements of the Middle East's travel industry.

With recruitment issues proving a headache for many companies in the industry, TechTuners believes its TravelYOLK website, found at www.travelyolk.com, fills a gap in the market for travel trade related recruitment.

TravelYOLK is designed to help individuals in the industry seek career advancement and helps companies search for the right staff.

"There's a lot of talent and potential in the travel industry in the Middle East that's not being utilised," said TechTuners chief executive Ilyas A Zameer. "We want to make it easier for people already in the industry to find opportunities for progression.

We're also introducing an online forum where employees can meet their potential employers and vice versa; it will be like an online speak easy."

Zammer also plans to associate TravelYOLK with training institutions and colleges as an aid for individuals already working in the industry, but looking to advance their career. "There is no carreer mentoring [in the region at present]," said Zammer.

"If someone starts as counter staff, he remains counter staff for 20 years; we need to address this."

While acknowledging that the situation has started to improve recently, Zammer is hopeful TravelYOLK can speed up the process.

"We are all passionate about Dubai," said Zameer. "We believe in this phenomenon and want to contribute and make it better and easier."
