Oracle today announced that Telecom Egypt has selected the Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS) from its e-business suite. Telecom Egypt, with more than 10 million lines and 50,000 employees on its payroll, will use the new system to streamline HR functions.
Oracle today announced that Telecom Egypt has selected Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and Payroll modules of the Oracle E-Business Suite. Telecom Egypt, one of the Egypt’s largest organisations, operates more than 10 million lines and has more than 50,000 employees based around the country.
The E-Business Suite modules included in the project are HRMS, payroll, time & labor, self-service, HR intelligence, training and a pilot implementation of iLearning. The wide-ranging implementation automates all aspects of routine human resources management covering all its employees.
“Telecom Egypt is one of the larger and more geographically widespread operations in the Middle East, so automating our human resources processes provides a single perspective on all of our staffing resources around the country. By choosing an integrated human resources approach, with modules covering various functions from payroll to training, we have secured long-term cost and efficiency savings,” says Eng. Aida Ismail chief of information technology, Telecom Egypt.
The telco began the automation of all back office operations in the late 90s starting with its financial systems. The new HR system will replace the existing legacy payroll system.
The new HRMS provides tools to find, extract, and analyse data related to human capital. Oracle's Self-Service HR allows the workforce to update and use employee-specific information, online via a browser, that is personalised to an individual's roles, experience, work content, language, and information needs. By allowing managers and employees to access and manage information and transactions in a paperless environment, organiations can streamline business processes, decrease costs, and improve service says Oracle.
Telecom Egypt already uses Oracle software to manage its billing, accounting, procurement, finance, and business intelligence. With its selection of its HRMS, Telecom Egypt will be one of the largest implementations in the Middle east claims the enterprise software vendor.
Telecom Egypt was established in 1918 as the Egyptian Telegraph and Telephone Administrator. The operator offers other value added services such as ISDN, high-speed data services on a Frame Relay/ATM backbone, call centres. It also provides mobile services in a 50% partnership with Vodafone.
