Cancellations resulting from August’s security alert at UK airports cost British Airways £40 million (US $70.35 million), the UK airline revealed in its monthly report.

This included lost revenues and the costs associated with providing hotel accommodation and catering for delayed passengers.

The airline cancelled 1280 flights between August 10 and 17.
