The Grand Rotana Resort in Sharm opens first Zen Spa

The newly-opened Zen the Spa at the Grand Rotana Resort and Spa is the first of a number of such facilities that are to be opened at Rotana hotels around the region.

The newly-opened Zen the Spa at the Grand Rotana Resort and Spa is the first of a number of such facilities that are to be opened at Rotana hotels around the region.

“[The spa] is part of Rotana Hotels’ continued focus on the needs of its clientele. Although we opened the five-star Grand Rotana Resort and Spa late last year, I can now say that the resort is truly complete,” said Karim El Ghazzawi, the property’s general manager.

The facility includes 10 treatment rooms and relaxation areas and the treatment menu offers a number of holistic therapies from around the world. The spa team has also introduced its own range of signature treatments for face and body, including traditional Thai and Swedish massages and hydrotherapy treatments.

In addition, a number of couples treatments are also available in the specially designed couples suites and outdoor cabanas.

“All massages and treatments are performed by internationally trained Far Eastern Therapists using rhythmic grace to achieve relaxation for their guests,” said El Ghazzawi.

“Spas are becoming important to both leisure and business travellers. Nowadays, they are a necessity rather than a luxury,” he continued. “Like health and fitness clubs, spas are essential facilities for any hotel and more and more people seem to be looking seriously at their personal health and well being.”

Indeed, following on the heels of the August launch of a new thalassotherapy spa at the Sheraton Sharm Hotel Resort and Villas also in Sharm-El-Sheikh, it would seem that Egypt’s spa industry is developing rapidly, with spas now a vital element in the country’s five-star hotel market.
