QEWC is 43 percent government owned and operates a series of power and desalination plants throughout Qatar. In particular, it is a shareholder in the 2,000MW Mesaieed power plant and the 2,730 Ras Laffan C plant - Ras Girtas - which will reach full capacity in 2011.
