The new measure of hotel performance

More than pride will be on the line when hoteliers tee off at this year's Hotelier Middle East Golf Classic.

For some hoteliers, measuring performance is all about achieving a good RevPAR. For others, their customer satisfaction is the most important thing. But on February 28, for one day only, it's all going to change - hotel performance will be measured by the most independent of all arbiters: golf.

The Hotelier Middle East Golf Classic 2008 will be held at the Montgomerie Golf Club, and this year, it's not just personal pride on the line. Players will be representing their hotel groups, with the winners to be published in the April issue of Hotelier Middle East.

Points will be awarded for on-course competitions on the day, including longest drive and closest to the pin, in addition to the overall winning scores.

Once again presented by Al Aqili Furnishings, the day promises to be a great networking opportunity. After all, as Bob Hope once said: if you watch a game, it's fun; if you play it, it's recreation; and if you have to work at it, then it's golf.

Other sponsors include TravMedia, Technogym, A. Ronai and Orbit. For more details and to sign up, please visit www.itp.net/events/hoteliergolf08.
