In line with the opening of its first store outside of the region, UAE-based home fashion retailer, THE One has named GAC as its Fourth-Party Logistics Provider (4PL). The long term contract will see GAC provide a logistics operation covering 2000 square metres, complete with inbound clearance, full transportation to THE One’s boutique store in Stockholm Sweden, which opens this week, as well as home deliveries to their customers.
GAC will also be the brain centre for THE One’s supply chain, developing a logistics expansion strategy to support further store openings in Sweden and possibly other parts of Europe. GAC Logistics has also supported THE One’s Middle East operations since the beginning of last year, including storage and distribution services for the furniture chain’s operations in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Qatar.
“GAC is extremely delighted with our growing relationship with THE One,” says Simon Morris, business manager for logistics services, GAC Dubai. “This partnership is a classic example of GAC’s commitment of growing with our clients and living up to our brand promise `Wherever you go’”.
“With THE One’s rapid expansion, we need a logistics partner who can keep up with us,” said Thomas Lundgren, founder & managing director of the chain. “At THE One, we go out of our way, so our customers don’t have to. We want to inspire our fans; and annoy and challenge our competitors. The people of Sweden will soon be able to explore, touch, smell, and feel the drama of THE Total Home Experience”.
Currently, GAC Logistics oversees a 12,000 pallet operation at its flagship Logistics Centre in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, for THE One providing warehousing, distribution, and value-added services, including pricing for their stores in Sweden.
