The Hamilton Penthouse – named after Lord Nelson's mistress Lady Hamilton – is one of the prettiest suites in all of London. Located within the Corinthia Hotel in London, it's a stone's throw away from such iconic sights like Big Ben, the London Eye and St. Paul's Cathedral.
As its name suggests, the suite faces Nelson's Column and lets guests gaze at the statue where Horatio Nelson stands (from their very own plunge-pool, located on the terrace). A private butler is on constant standby and able to service requests such as having breakfast on the terrace or getting the room's temperature controls absolutely perfect. Not that he is needed that often – curtains and lights are operated via bedside switch, and there are libraries of books and music for entertainment. Plus, views from the terrace are so spectacular, you'll hardly want to spend all your time indoors.
Indeed, the Corinthia has seven other themed suites. Highlights include the Whitehall Penthouse – which has a gentlemen's club décor and a giant chess set on its terrace (and faces the Parliament buildings) and the Royal Penthouse 0 now the largest in London – and provides guests with uninterrupted views of the Thames, right from the Gherkin building to Big Ben.
Five of the seven penthouse suites – on the fifth and seventh floor of the former government building in Whitehall – have balconies, or in some cases, large roof terraces that give guests breath-taking views of the city beyond.
