49-year-old Huda Kotb fronts NBC’s Today programme with Kathie Lee Gifford. The American citizen, both of whose parents are Egyptian, began her journalism career as a news assistant for CBS News in Cairo. Since then, she worked for several local TV channels in the US before landing as a job as a correspondent on Dateline NBC in 1998. She has been the co-host of Today since 2007. Six years ago, Kotb underwent surgery for breast cancer, and has since become an advocate for breast cancer awareness.
