Apple could open three stores in the UAE before the end of the year, according to a Dubai-based website.
Apple has yet to open its first store in the country, but a report by tech website AbsoluteGeeks.com claims sources have revealed the company will open three by year-end.
News has already been leaked of the company’s plans to open a store in the Mall of Emirates, set to be Apple’s largest in the world. And based on previous advertisements on the Apple website for jobs in Abu Dhabi, the company also has plans to open an outlet in the capital – likely to be Yas Mall.
The third store, according to AbsoluteGeeks, will be opened in Downtown Dubai.
Plans to open the first store in the Mall of Emirates have not been confirmed by the company, but informed sources say the outlet will open in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the recently-launched Apple Watch could make its debut in the UAE in the near future. Khaleej Times has speculated that the new wearable device could be available in the UAE in two weeks’ time, April 25.
“Unofficially, by April 25... we’ll aim to have inventory as soon as we get a hold of it. This should be on or around April 25,” said Omar Kassim, founder of online marketplace JadoPado.com.
“I think the Apple Watch will be an interesting one and may take a bit of time to take off, but it should do well.”
The device will initially roll-out in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, UK and the US.
