TNT recently held a launch ceremony to unveil its new operational facility near Dubai International Airport.
The centre is designed to support the handling of TNT’s local market connections in Dubai, handling in excess of 35,000 shipments per week. In addition, it will operate as a central hub for collections outside of Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi, with hundreds of thousands of kilos being processed into the company’s road and air networks.
“TNT has been leading the market in terms of growth, with shipment numbers in excess of 70% over the previous year. It was therefore necessary to expand our facilities to meet increased demand for services and future growth levels,” said Bryan Moulds, country general manager, TNT.
“We have taken a strategic decision to open new premises and gave a lot of attention in the selection of the perfect location, which offers excellent links to Dubai International Airport, in addition to the main arterial routes such as Emirates highway and Al Itihad roads.”
The new operational facility offers TNT more space for its delivery fleet, together with increased capacity for sortation and cargo handling. The company also has space to expand the building at a later date to meet its predictions for future growth. For all the latest transport news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
