Michelin-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire has chosen Dubai for his new pastry shop venture, with his first shop set to open in the city next year.
The InterContinental Dubai Festival City will see the opening of the new concept during the first quarter of 2014, Hotelier Middle East reported.
Olivier Biles, who opened Reflets Par Pierre Gagnaire at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, will be overseeing the outlet, called Choix Patisserie & Restaurant Par Pierre Gagnaire.
The patisserie will be located in the hotel’s lobby and will also be the first standalone pastry shop by Pierre Gagnaire in the world.
The outlet is scheduled to open in Q1 2014, but there is currently no firm opening date.
The restaurant will have a contemporary and comfortable environment with pastries and cakes, as well as high quality chocolate, macaroons and flavoured marshmallows along with a selection of homemade breads.
An afternoon tea is also available daily which includes a collection of fusions and flavours, finger sandwiches, éclairs, camel milk entremets, sultana scones and fine varieties of loose teas.
