Dubai International adds electric power to its fleet

Dubai Airports, Chevrolet Middle East and Al Ghandi Auto have introduced the Bolt EV to Dubai Airports’ support vehicle fleet, the companies have announced.

At the airport, the Bolt EV – which has a range of 520 km on a single charge - will transport teams on the airport’s roadways to help facilitate airside tasks such as airfield maintenance, traffic management and runway and taxiway inspections.

“Boasting all the environmental benefits of an EV, the Chevrolet Bolt EV remains a game changer in its segment, promising class-leading range and the practicality of a conventional vehicle,” said John Roth, the president and managing director of General Motors Middle East and Africa. , I am confident the Chevrolet Bolt EV will provide the required utility and speed needed to support the Dubai Airport teams in their operations.”

Paul Griffiths, the CEO of Dubai Airports, added that the partnership with Chevrolet represents part of an ongoing effort to contribute to Dubai’s green initiatives.

“The addition of the Chevrolet Bolt EV to our support fleet will go a long way in increasing awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles while further cementing our alignment and our push for environmentally responsible mobility solutions,” he said.

“We are constantly looking for greater efficiencies across all our operations and this partnership was a natural next step in this direction,” he added.
