The agreement will see DHL establish a 2,500 square metre warehouse in Abu Dhabi to consolidate and store Strata shipments
UAE-based Strata Manufacturing, which is owned by Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala, has partnered with global logistics giant DHL Global Forwarding to provide Fourth Party Logistics (4PL) services along the entire span of its supply chain, it was announced on Thursday.
The five-year agreement is aimed at minimising Strata Manufacturing’s shipment times, with DHL Global Forwarding taking responsibility for all warehousing, freight and customs clearance of aero-structures produced at Strata’s facility at the Nibras Al Ain Aerospace Park.
The partnership will see DHL Global Forwarding establish a 2,500 square metre warehouse in Abu Dhabi for to consolidate and store Strata’s shipments.
“We’re excited to partner with Strata Manufacturing to support its growth strategies,” said DHL Global Forwarding CEO Amadou Diallo. “With the aviation industry expecting positive growth, Strata’s growth horizons for its wing components and tail assemblies continue to look optimistic.”
The supply chain will support both the time-critical needs of aircraft that require immediate replacement parts, as well as consolidated outbound shipments to Strata’s customers such as Airbus and Boeing.
“DHL global freight networking and warehousing infrastructure, coupled with its expertise in handling the sensitivities of aerospace products, will support our goals for further international growth,” said Strata CEO Ismail Ali Abdulla.
As part of the agreement, DHL Global Forwarding will also provide end-to-end control tower services from manufacturing facilities in Al Ain to the warehouse in Abu Dhabi and DHL’s European warehouses, which serve as global hubs for overseas distribution.
