Dubai will be Vistara’s second international destination, after Singapore.

Indian full service airline Vistara has started bookings for its direct flight to Dubai from Mumbai, to be launched on August 21.

Vistara will deploy Airbus A320 NEO aircraft in three-class configurations: business, premium economy and economy, to cater to services on the Dubai-Mumbai route.

“Vistara will be the first airline to offer such a choice to passengers,” the airline said in a statement.

Dubai will be Vistara’s second international destination, after Singapore, to which the Tata-Singapore Airline (SIA) joint venture will commence services from Delhi and Mumbai from August 6 and 7 respectively.

“With the continuous influx of international trade, business and tourists all year round, especially given the strong economic and cultural ties between India and the UAE, Dubai makes a key addition to our growing network,” Leslie Thng, chief executive officer, Vistara, has said.

Customers can also take convenient one-stop connections to/from other cities beyond Mumbai, such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad and Kolkata, as well as Singapore, in Vistara’s Dubai flight, the carrier said.

Vistara has announced introductory all-inclusive economy fares for Mumbai-Dubai-Mumbai at $256 and Dubai-Mumbai-Dubai at $208.

The fully-fledged Indian carrier said it will also offer a complimentary in-flight entertainment streaming service on its Dubai flights.

Following the launch of services to Dubai, Vistara will be operating over 1,200 flights per week, connecting 26 destinations within and outside India, with a fleet of 23 Airbus A320 and six Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, the airline said.

Last year, Vistara placed an order for a combination of purchased and leased aircraft totalling 50 from the Airbus A320 neo family (including the A321neo) for domestic India as well as short and medium-haul international operations.

The deliveries of these aircraft are scheduled between 2019 and 2023.

Additionally, the airline has purchased six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft that are scheduled to be delivered between 2020 and 2021, and will be used for long-haul international operations.
