The meeting was held at the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigatin Centre in Abu Dhabi. It was agreed to hold another round of talks in St Petersburg in the first half of 2020.

An agreement has been signed between the UAE and Russia to look at increasing flights to different cities in both countries.

Currently there are about 111 flights operating per week between Russia and the UAE.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed following discussions between Omar Ghalib Bin Ghalib, deputy director general of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), representatives of national carriers in the UAE (Emirates, Etihad Airways, Air Arabia and Flydubai), and Stilvana Petrova, director of the state policy department in the Russian Civil Aviation.

The meeting was held at the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigatin Centre in Abu Dhabi. It was agreed to hold another round of talks in St Petersburg in the first half of 2020.

The MoU is part of a wider strategy by the UAE to expand tourism and trade links by strengthening air transport services with countries throughout the world.
