Saudia says no plans to resume domestic flights in June

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has denied reports that it plans to resume flights within the kingdom in June.

In an update posted on its media account on Twitter, the Saudi national carrier said there are no plans and no date has been proposed for the resumption of flights in the kingdom.

“About resumption of flights, Saudi Arabian Airlines wants to clarify that what is being said is incorrect and no date has been fixed for the purpose. The decision to reopen flights is determined by the concerned authorities,” the carrier said.

Media reports in Saudi Arabia had claimed the Saudia would resume is domestic operations on June 1. However,  Saudi Arabia’s interior ministry extended the suspension of international and domestic flights until further notice, according to Saudi Gazette newspaper.
