Covid-19: Dubai relaxes car passenger limit for families

Dubai Police said members of the same family are allowed to travel in the same vehicle without being fined for violating the current three-people limit.

Dubai has relaxed the limit on the number of passengers allowed to travel together for family members.

Dubai Police said members of the same family are allowed to travel in the same vehicle without being fined for violating the current three-people limit.

The exemption also applies to first-degree relatives, said Brigadier Saif Mahir Al Mazrouei, director of Dubai Police Traffic Department.

A fine of AED1,000 will be imposed on a driver if he or she has more than three individuals in his vehicle who are not related.

The move comes after Abu Dhabi outlined similar measures regarding members of the same family travelling in the same vehicle.
