Bahraini carrier Gulf Air is working with Indian authorities in Saudi Arabia to organise repatriation flights between Dammam and a number of Indian cities, the airline has announced.

In a statement, Gulf Air said that upcoming planned charter flights will operate to destinations including Chennai, Ahmedabad, Mangalore and Cochin.

In May, Gulf Air carried a record 50 tonnes of fresh meats and produce from Lahore to Riyadh on-board a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

In April, the carrier also conducted a number of flights as part of Bahrain’s International Covid-19 Repatriation Programme (ICRP), the company announced.

In a statement, Gulf Air said it had flown Bahraini nationals home from Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt and Turkey.
